Guest Post: Chelsea from Life is a Sunset!

Today I have a special treat for you all!
I want you to meet a very special gal who I met during the October Fall Fest, this is Chelsea!  I found her blog and I couldn't help but read more and more.  We all have trials, and Chelsea's have made her stronger, she has so much strength in her words.  I couldn't help but invite her to share a message to the Meg's Craft Creations readers.  You know how some people are just plain and simple beautiful inside and out?  Chelsea is a model example of one of these people.  Everyone stop by her blog and show her some love!

Hi there to all you readers of Meg’s Craft Creations! I’m Chelsea from Life is a Sunset!

I’m so thrilled that Meg asked me to guest post for her! Isn’t she just as sweet as can be?? Today I’ll be writing from my heart which is, in fact, my favorite way to write. I think it’s something we should each take the time to do for ourselves. Just sit down and write whatever is on your heart, whether it’s on your blog or somewhere more private like in a journal.
This year has quite possibly been the most difficult year I’ve had to go through. I’ve had some of the happiest moments of my life followed by some of the saddest moments. It’s been a roller coaster, but, in the end my world got turned upside down. There’s a quote, “You never realize how strong you are until being strong is the only option you have.” Well, I learned the true meaning of that this year. So, today I’m going to talk to you about the hard times. Like, the really, really hard times. The "can’t eat, can’t sleep, some days you can’t stop crying" hard times.
I faced the beginning of my hard times on the other side of the country, away from all my family and friends. I had no choice but to find a way to be strong for myself because there weren’t any shoulders to cry on {except for my cat's and, believe me, it got to the point where I even picked her up and just cried.} So, while I’m sure many people would tell you to just surround yourself with loved ones, the honest truth is, sometimes that’s just not possible at the time.
I found my hope and strength in the future. Whether it was the next day or five years down the road, I continued to focus on the days to come, reminding myself that this hard time was happening for a reason and that better days were on their way. I didn’t have the answers as to when and how. All I could do was take it each day at a time. I made plans to move back to my hometown which kept me busy packing, cleaning, and running errands for weeks! Keeping yourself busy is key to staying strong, just be sure to find a healthy balance between being busy and taking care of yourself as well.

I think the worst thing you could possibly do during the difficult times is brush it all under a rug and ignore what you're going through. Instead, find that balance. Whether you’re working, going to school, grabbing lunch with a friend, make sure to balance that with “YOU” time. Find a new favorite TV show, take on a new craft project, or make a new goal like going to the gym more often. But, most importantly, take the time to feel through your emotions. It will make you even stronger in the end. I can’t even tell you how many times I have cried myself to sleep. Would my eyes be swollen the next day? You better believe it! But, I got those tears out of my system. My heart felt even stronger because of it.

I look back at the beginning of this hard time for me which started just over three months ago. Every day has been different. Some days have been harder than others. But, when I look back – really look back at where I used to be – I feel like a changed person. I see how much the difficult days and nights have refined me. With every tear I cried, my heart somehow grew a little stronger. With every day that I woke up, hopped out of bed, excited for the challenges that awaited, my soul grew a little stronger. If you’re going through a hard time, just know that it won’t always be easy, but have faith that it WILL be worth it.

To get a better glimpse into my life and my inspirations, feel free to stop by my blog and say hi! :) I love new visitors! Thank you so much, Meg for having me today!!
